I have a new style love for the holidays! I’ve been seeing these plaid scarves EVERYWHERE.

I am such a sucker for Christmas time downtown, you guys. Oh my Gosh. It’s SO DANG CUTE. I love all of the lights on all of the trees, and the garland – it’s one of my favorite times in the year. I love Colorado dearly, but it is not a very pretty state after all of the leaves have fallen off of the trees and all of the vegetation dies. So when that happens, Christmas time is the time I look forward to!
I was never ever a Christmas and festive type of girl. It was always the same Christmas songs over and over, and I just wasn’t ever really into the whole thing. Every year I swear I’m becoming more like my mom and last year (and you might have seen from this post), something changed and all of a sudden I became a festive Christmas person. I have no idea how it happened, but I have a feeling it’s because I finally got my own Christmas tree for my apartment, and just became an entirely new holiday human.
I’ve been seeing these scarves everywhere this holiday season – and I’m obsessed. Using a plaid scarf to “festify” your outfit is a great way to show that you’re involved in the holiday, without going overboard. On this particular morning we bee-bopped downtown to Union Station for brunch and snagged some coffee afterwards; Union Station has a massive Christmas tree and a handful of decorations: the life-size reindeer made out of lights, two huge stars you can take pictures next to, and heaps of lights on the trees lining the streets. It’s basically adorable around this time of year. It was SUPER windy, but we managed to get some cute shots of the Christmas decor.
